Poster Guidelines

Poster presentations

All  posters will be hung from Sunday to Wednesday of the Congress (in ‘Pavilion 2’), to allow plenty of time for poster viewing, including after 18:00 from Sunday to Tuesday.

Attended poster presentations – when poster presenters should be at their poster to explain and discuss their work with those interested – are scheduled between 13:00 and 14:30 from Sunday to Wednesday, according to the list of topics by day below. We encourage you to support all presenters at the event with active and friendly engagement in the poster sessions.

Please note that in this 90 min presentation period, to facilitate circulation within a topic there will be an odd–even number split of presentations: poster presenters whose posters have an odd number in the last part (suffix) of their notation (e.g. P-02.5-001, P-02.5-003) should be at their poster in the first 45 min of the session (13:00–13:45), whereas poster presenters whose posters have an even number in the last part of their notation (e.g. P-03.3-002, P-03.3-004) should be at their poster in the second 45 min (13:45–14:30).

Your poster notation for the event is available in the Congress website's registration/abstract system: if you preview your accepted abstract after logging in you will see it under the abstract title. Close to the time of the event you will also find poster notations via the Abstract Search tool on the website and on the Congress mobile app.

Mounting your poster

The poster area will be open from 09:00 on Sunday 10th July for mounting of posters. All posters should be set up no later than the first coffee break on Sunday 10th July and remain in place until the end of the poster presentation session on Wednesday 13th July (14:30).

Mounting materials will be available at the poster helpdesk. Posters must be hung at the board number corresponding to your abstract notation in the Congress website and app. There will be stewards to assist you.

Removing your poster

Please remove your poster after the end of the poster presentation session on Wednesday 13th July (after 14:30). Posters not removed on the Wednesday afternoon will be disposed of at the end of the event.

Preparing your poster

Posters will be displayed in portrait format.
The dimensions of the poster should not exceed 90 cm wide x 140 cm high.
Abstract title, author(s) and affiliation(s) should appear at the top of the poster.
The content should be readable from a distance of 2 m.

Finding and viewing posters

Accepted abstracts will be available online just prior to the conference on the Congress website (via the Abstract Search tool), the Congress app, and, if submitted by the March deadline, the FEBS Open Bio supplement of abstracts, to enable participants to comfortably decide which posters to visit. This will be explained in more detail in a 'Latest news' post nearer the time of the event.

FEBS Press poster prizes

FEBS Press poster prizes for outstanding scientific posters at the Congress will be awarded by The FEBS JournalFEBS Letters, Molecular Oncology and FEBS Open Bio. More details are given in a 'Latest news' post here.

Poster printing

The Congress organizers are offering the possibility to print your poster out onsite. To avoid carrying the poster all the way from your home and any possible damage or loss, you may send us your poster via e-mail and we will print it out for you. You can then easily pick it up at the poster helpdesk onsite.

Authors interested in the printing service should send their posters in PDF format (printing quality) to lisbon2022@alivetravel.com with the subject POSTER PRINTING. Once your poster is checked, our personnel will get back to you with a confirmation. For posters sent in advance (received and paid by 24th June), the price for this printing service is 60 EUR.
